A fly fishing experience completely different from traditional mountain fishing. The Seabass Fly Fishing Experience takes place in the Grado Lagoon, in the Northern Adriatic, bringing fly fishing into a unique natural environment where the main objective is to target wild sea bass from the boat.

The lagoon offers an extremely unique environment, with shallow waters, channels, mudflats, extensive submerged vegetation and constantly moving water between the lagoon and the sea. Fly fishing from the boat in this setting provides sensations that in some ways resemble tropical fishing, combined with an environment reminiscent of pike fishing from a boat over weed beds in the large lakes of Northern Europe. A landscape completely different from the classic Alpine rivers, yet equally fascinating and full of opportunities, especially when fishing in crystal-clear waters where you can directly observe the behaviour of the fish.

Sea bass is the main target of the experience: wild fish that can be targeted in different situations by actively searching the most suitable areas and taking advantage of feeding periods and peaks of activity. Sight fishing, hunting-style fly fishing and targeting actively feeding fish make every situation particularly exciting, requiring you to locate the fish, interpret its movements and present the streamer as effectively as possible. Streamer fishing requires good casting technique, the ability to present the fly accurately and, above all, the ability to cast well and at distance for many hours, making this experience particularly suitable for intermediate-to-advanced and experienced anglers.

Depending on the time of year, weather and sea conditions, time of day and periods of predator activity, the experience may also offer the opportunity to target other powerful marine predators. In the sea waters directly outside the lagoon, leerfish, bluefish and mahi-mahi may also come into play, turning the day into a true saltwater predatory fly fishing experience, using streamers and actively searching for fish on the hunt.

One of the most fascinating aspects of the Seabass Fly Fishing Experience is precisely the unpredictability of the environment: this is not fishing in artificial or managed waters, but the search for wild fish in their natural habitat, where tides, wind, light, water temperature and fish activity continuously influence the fishing strategy. As your guide, I will help you read the environment and identify the most interesting opportunities, adapting techniques and approach to the conditions of the day and helping you make the most of sight fishing, hunting fish and actively feeding fish.

This experience is ideal for anyone looking to move beyond the classic trout and grayling fly fishing itineraries and try something completely different, without giving up the technical aspect, active fish hunting and the excitement of catching fish on a fly.
