TFO - Blue Water SG Rod

The TFO Blue Water SG Rod, designed by Jake Jordan for offshore fly fishing, combines the ability to cast large flies accurately and the strength to fight and land big pelagic species.

The SG Series features a hybrid blank with a carbon fiber upper section for fast, precise casts and tip recovery, and an S-Glass lower section for superior strength and shortened lever, capable of lifting over 10 lbs (4.5 kg) at a 90-degree fighting angle. Jake Jordan has landed over 10,000 billfish on fly with this series, making it the most widely used blue water fly rod in the world.

For 2023, the reel seat has been upgraded to fully anodized aluminum, and the handle on the Light-Duty (LD) model has been extended. Axiom II single filament S-Glass applications are used within the blank walls to reduce ovaling and improve smoothness and power.

Baby models feature composite cork split grips, traditional snake and stripper guides, and are 9’ four-piece. Light-Duty 9’, Mid-Duty 8’6”, and Heavy-Duty rods have a single extended composite cork fore-grip, full aluminum oxide insert double-foot guides, and an aluminum oxide tip top. All models include a Cordura case.
