Lead Eyes

Lead Eyes are hourglass-shaped lead eyes commonly used in streamer fly tying. In addition to adding a realistic look to the fly, they provide front-weighted balance, helping the fly sink and improving stability and swimming action in the water.

They are especially popular for tying Clouser Minnow, shrimp patterns and predator streamers, both for freshwater and saltwater fishing.

Depending on how they are attached to the hook, above or below the hook shank, they allow the fly to behave differently in the water:

- tied underneath of the shank, the streamer swims in a standard position;

- tied on top, the fly swims hook point up, creating an inverted presentation that helps reduce snagging on the bottom.

The hourglass design ensures stable and secure positioning during tying, making them a staple material for many classic and modern streamer patterns.
