Laser Dubbing

Laser Dubbing is a long-fiber synthetic dubbing designed for tying streamer patterns for both freshwater and saltwater fly fishing. The fine fibers feature bright UV reflections, helping create highly attractive baitfish and shrimp imitations.

It can be used to tie tails, bodies and heads of streamers, allowing the tier to build natural-looking and voluminous profiles. The fibers are easy to shape and can be trimmed with scissors to obtain the desired silhouette.

Laser Dubbing blends perfectly with many streamer materials such as streamer feathers, marabou, bucktail and zonker, as well as synthetic materials like craft fur, chenille and other dubbing blends, allowing endless tying combinations. For best durability it is recommended to use strong tying threads when securing the material to the hook.

Once tied in, the fibers can be brushed with a fly tying comb to evenly distribute them along the streamer and enhance movement in the water. The material can also be cut to length, held with hackle pliers and tied in a dubbing loop, creating very full heads and bodies.

Combined with tungsten beads, it allows the creation of effective small streamers for trout and other predators, while adhesive eyes, bead chain eyes or dumbbell eyes can be used to tie classic patterns such as Clouser Minnow. The fibers can also be colored with markers to imitate backs, gills or fins for even more realistic flies.
