Between the end of May and beginning of June, together with friends of the Fly Casting Club Reggio Emilia, I had the pleasure of finally going fishing in Slovenia!
For years everyone had talked to me about Slovenia, especially Sava. I had the opportunity to fish in another river, Savinja.
The hot summer, the drought, the already low levels have certainly not helped us. So difficult conditions, but insisting and understanding what the best flies were a lot of rainbows and eventually graylings!
Delicate movements, thin tips, and small flies were the winning cards of this experience. We caught several graylings also in the small tributary Dreta, where we fished only with small dry flies during the day like an Arpo in cdc, and a fun coup de soir with stoneflies during a hatching of Yellow Sally.

On the Savinja there are also several nymph catches in the deepest currents, where a barb has unexpectedly come out!
See you next time :)
